These butcher block countertops are made in the USA by John Boos & Co. Black Walnut is a top-selling North American hardwood, renowned for its dark and rich colors that add warmth to rooms. Edge-grain butcher blocks are constructed using wood strips that run the full length of the butcher block, providing clean seam lines and an open feel. These particular counter tops are 1-3/4 inches thick, 48 inches wide, 97 inches long, and finished with Varnique - a semi-gloss, varnish-like finish that requires little maintenance, but should not be directly cut upon.
