How to play Build It!

Build It! is a free, one-tap house stacking game. Each new floor slides across the screen. Tap, click or press Space to set it on the floor below. Anything that hangs over the edge is trimmed off, so every sloppy drop makes the next floor narrower. Keep stacking until you miss completely, then the roof goes on and your floors are counted.

Tips for a taller house

• Watch the edges, not the middle. Tap the moment the sliding floor lines up with the edge of the floor below.
• Chase perfect drops. A perfect drop keeps the full width, and three in a row win some width back.
• Expect it to speed up. Every floor slides a little faster, so find a rhythm early.
• Go full screen on a laptop or desktop for the biggest view, or turn your phone upright.

Why a building game?

We are a design-build team in Keene, New Hampshire, and stacking floors straight, level and square is our day job. Is Build It! free?

Yes. It is free, has no ads and needs no sign-up. It runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers.

How do high scores work?

If your house makes the all-time top 100, you can enter up to three initials, like an old arcade machine. Scores are kept on our server, so the Hall of fame is the same for everyone. Your personal best is also remembered on your device.

Can I play in full screen?

Yes. Tap Full screen above the game. On iPhone the game fills the browser window instead.
