How to use it
Measure the room wall to wall in inches and enter the width and length. Add each fixture, drag it into place, and use Rotate to turn it so its back is against a wall. The green and red areas are the clearance zones being checked: green passes, red needs attention.
The clearances it checks
- Toilet: 15" from its centerline to a wall or fixture on each side, and 21" clear in front.
- Vanity: 21" clear to stand in front (30" is comfortable).
- Tub and shower: 21" clear at the entry.
- Door: a warning if the door swing hits a fixture.

Common questions
How much space do you need around a toilet?
Most codes require 15" from the center of the toilet to any wall or fixture at the side, and 21" of clear floor in front of the bowl. 30" wide and 24" in front are more comfortable.
How much space in front of a vanity?
At least 21" of clear floor in front of the sink; 30" is comfortable and lets you open drawers while standing.
What is the smallest full bathroom?
About 5 by 8 feet fits a standard 60" tub, a toilet and a small vanity along one wall.
