Curtain and rod size calculator
Window size to the right curtain rod length, mounting height, panel width and length.
Hang high and wide
Mount the rod about two thirds of the way from the window trim to the ceiling, and extend it about 8" past the trim on each side. Windows look taller and curtains clear the glass when open.
Panel width
For a full look, total panel width should be about twice the rod length. Tailored panels use 1.5 times; very full, 2.5 times.
Panel length
Curtains that just kiss the floor look finished. Measure from the rod to the floor and subtract about half an inch.
